Always looking for new ways to market cardboard and gum, Topps revisited a more colorful style of cellophane packaging in 1969. This unopened PSA 6 "blue cello" features full graphics printed on the plastic wrapper, much like a wax wrapper (save for the material), marking a departure from the more common clear cellophane typically used by Topps. Perhaps issued as more of a test, these blue cellos are extremely difficult to find today, with only eight authenticated by PSA. Add to that the fact that the 1969 Topps baseball first series includes the possibility of Clemente, Bench, Aaron, and Banks, and it becomes obvious why this one is on numerous wish lists.
