There isn’t much left to say about the importance of this card within the entire collecting industry. The significance of the 1986/87 Fleer set and the iconic Michael Jordan rookie card was thoroughly described in Lot #1 (the 1986/87 Fleer wax box). Simply put, everyone in the sports card collecting world recognizes this as one of the most important cards ever produced. Enough said!
As for the card itself, it was recently pulled directly from an unopened pack of 1986 Fleer Basketball and sent to PSA for grading in California. This untouched card features MINT corners and an immaculate surface. While it doesn’t quite meet the stringent criteria for a GEM MINT grade, it remains a stellar example of “The Card” that every collector dreams of owning.
