The 1961 Fleer Basketball release is significant as it was one of the earliest mainstream basketball sets, featuring legends from both past and present eras. Paul Arizin, a Hall of Famer and Philadelphia Warriors star, was known for his scoring ability and innovative jump shot. High-grade examples of this card are rare due to centering issues and print defects common in the set. Another factor that makes this card difficult to find in high grade is that it was card #2, appearing near the top of the set. The first few cards of any sports card issue were always susceptible to additional wear due to their position at the top of stacks when collected during the era of their release.
