The 1969 Transogram boxes are a unique and nostalgic part of baseball card history. Sold as boxed sets featuring three player figures and a perforated three-card panel, these products were often available in toy stores. Each panel included three cards, with many Hall of Famers like Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, and Roberto Clemente featured. Because the cards were often torn apart by kids, finding complete, unpunched panels today is rare and highly collectible. The combination of figures, packaging, and exclusive card format makes 1969 Transogram boxes a standout oddball issue from the vintage era. Also produced that year were single-player boxes, each containing one player figure and one card panel. This lot features an example of the single-player box, showcasing Al Kaline. The plastic figure has come loose from the flat green base to which it was originally attached. However, the box itself remains relatively clean and visually appealing. The card on the back of the Kaline box has some creasing near the top that dips just below the black perforated line. That is the only notable flaw in the condition of the card. These original Transogram boxes are not readily available—and when they do surface, they often show significant wear!
