The Topps football from 1984 was a monster issue when it came to the amount of rookie hall of fame cards in it. Dan Marino and John Elway are the big keys to the set. However, 1984 also contains the HOF rookie cards of Eric Dickerson, Howie Long, Dwight Stevenson, Andre Tippett, Jackie Slater, Darrell Green, Russ Grimm, Jimbo Covert, and Morten Anderson.
Almost every case of 1984 Topps football that comes to market is of the “Final Sale” version where the boxes were marked with a black X in paint to represent that is was a Topps return and then sold back into the market at blowout prices. Very rarely does a sealed case of 1984 Topps football surface that is still originally factory sealed and not of the “Final Sale” version. Boxes from these cases do not have the black X pained on the lid, nor have the packs been touched since they left the Topps factory back in 1984! This box came from one of these factory sealed cases and will be labeled as FASC (From A Sealed Case).
